How to install your eSIM on iPhone

Before You Start

Before installing your eSIM:

  • Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  • Have the email we sent you with your installation details ready.
  • Do not lock your iPhone or turn off the screen during the installation process.

You can install your eSIM using any of these three methods:

  • QR code (recommended).
  • Manual installation by entering the activation details.
  • One Touch Install, if your iPhone is running iOS 17.4 or later.

Option 1. Install Using a QR Code

  1. Open the Camera app on your iPhone.
  2. Scan the QR code we sent you by email.
  3. Tap the Cellular Plan Detected notification that appears at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap Continue.
  5. Wait a few minutes while your iPhone downloads the eSIM.
  6. When the installation is complete, tap Done.

If your iPhone doesn't recognize the QR code

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  2. Tap Add eSIM.
  3. Select Use QR Code.
  4. Scan the QR code.
  5. Tap Continue and wait for the installation to complete.

Option 2. Manual Installation

If you can't use the QR code, you can also install the eSIM manually by entering the activation details. You'll need the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code, which can be found in your doctorSIM email.

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data).
  2. Tap Add eSIM.
  3. Select Use QR Code (on the next screen you'll be able to enter the details manually).
  4. Tap Enter Details Manually.
  5. Enter the SM-DP+ Address.
  6. Enter the Activation Code.
  7. If you have a Confirmation Code, enter it. Otherwise, leave this field blank.
  8. Tap Next.
  9. Wait a few minutes while your iPhone downloads the eSIM.
  10. When the installation is complete, tap Done.

Option 3. One Touch Install

Available only on iPhones running iOS 17.4 or later.

If your device is compatible, you can install the eSIM directly from the link included in the email without scanning the QR code.

  1. Open the doctorSIM email on the iPhone where you want to install the eSIM.
  2. Tap Install eSIM.
  3. Your iPhone will automatically open the installation screen.
  4. Tap Continue.
  5. Wait a few minutes while the eSIM profile is downloaded.
  6. When the installation is complete, tap Done.

💡 Do you see a "Retry" button?

On some iPhones, iOS may not start downloading the eSIM profile on the first attempt. If this happens, simply tap Retry to resume the installation.
