The following iPhone models have a restriction placed on them by Apple preventing them from being used on CDMA networks:
- A1778 and A1784 (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus).
- A1905 and A1897 (iPhone 8 and 8 Plus).
- A1901 (iPhone X).
If you unlock one of these models (either via IMEI or with the UnlockMySIM card) you will not be able to use the device on networks using technology such as Sprint, US Cellular or Verizon.
On the other hand, the UnlockMySIM card will work if you wish to switch to any other network carrier using CDMA technology which doesn't use the Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular network.
Can I use the UnlockMySIM card if the original operator is Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular?
If the network your iPhone is locked to is one of these three, you can use the UnlockMySIM card to any other network without any problems as long as it doesn't use the Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular network.
